Based on the early Corvette race car designed by young Pete Brock and later brought to production through Larry Shinoda’s refinements in 1963, the C2 series Corvette has continued to be a favorite among collectors including new generations of performance-minded enthusiasts. By 1966, the Corvette had advanced to a superb road car including top of the line performance equipment like independent rear suspension, disc brakes all around, and a range of engine packages that allowed for both performance and reliability, making these cars not only continuously collectible, but highly suited to tours and events, club gatherings, local shows, and cars and coffee events.History and Build Details of This CarThis Corvette was completed at the A.O. Smith Michigan plant in December 1966 and finished in Elkhart Blue Metallic with Teal Blue vinyl interior. Optioned with the 327/350 hp V8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission, this Corvette is a handsome combination of original, restored, and upgraded items, and has been recently serviced in preparation for consignment. Work performed in July 2026 included installing all four new brake calipers, new front and rear brake pads, two new brake hoses, brake fluid flush, and a new master brake cylinder. Additionally, a new Fuel Tech 600 cfm carburetor was installed with dual feed inlet (carb settings adjusted and timing set), new NGK spark plugs, a new fuel pump, and a new air cleaner were also installed. Condition OverviewToday this beautiful 327/350 hp powered Corvette roadster presents beautifully with a strong visual presence, great stance, and striking colors. The paint is smooth and glossy with correct metal flake and proper coverage. The body exhibits very good fit and finish with nice panel gaps at the doors and hood line. The retractable headlight doors are smooth and fit well, opening and closing per factory specifications. The chrome plated bumpers are correctly fitting and properly aligned to the front and rear body contours. The chrome trim, badges, and various exterior elements are clean and exhibit proper fit to the body. A set of aftermarket 17” chrome plated wheels wear a set of Nitto NT450 225/50R17 radial tires. A set of factory style side pipes are in place adding a powerful touch to the convertible body design. The glass, lights, and lenses are in excellent condition, and the black canvas convertible top is in excellent condition and fits properly to the windshield header with a clear rear plastic window. Inside, the car continues to deliver handsome visual results with a combination of original and restored features using quality materials matching original specifications. Additional Details
The black canvas convertible soft top is in excellent condition. There are no tears or major flaws of significance in the soft top, and the headliner is also in very good condition. The interior presentation overall is very satisfying with a strong visual presence depicting a combination of original and restored features. Best of all, the 4-speed manual transmission and Hurst shifter make for a confident pairing with the 327/350 hp V8 engine. Under the hood, the car presents with a combination of original and updated features, which makes this an ideal Corvette for an enthusiast who enjoys driving their cars. The engine and engine compartment has been maintained to original standards, though not overly fussy to inhibit use. The engine has been updated recently with a Fuel Tech 600 cfm carburetor. Mallory ignition, a new fuel pump, and a modern air conditioning unit is fitted which currently blows when the blower settings are activated from the dash, but the system has not been charged in several years. Underneath the car, the suspension, driveline components, performance equipment, and recently replaced calipers for the four wheel disc brakes all appear generally correct and consistent with the era.The car starts easily and settles into a loping idle echoing from the factory side pipes. The throttle response is spot on when tapped at idle, delivering snappy acceleration. The car shifts well and moves smoothly through traffic even when mildly motoring. Acceleration at higher speeds captures your full and complete attention in a straight line or when cornering. Steering is responsive, supported by excellent 4-wheel disc brakes, and independent suspension.
